The ComfyMed Back Brace is one of the pricier back braces that you may come across, but it totes an innovative design that will cover spinal issues and muscle issues, though it’s certainly not without its issues. Its claim is that it is super comfortable, covers all issues, and “Say Goodbye To Back Pain!” is mentioned right in its description. One might say that it is too good to be true, but the question remains: Can ComfyMed put their money where their mouth is?

What’s Great About ComfyMed® Premium Quality Back Brace CM-102M with Removable Lumbar Pad for Lower Back Pain Relief

Covers All The Bases: This is one of the few back braces that claims that it can cover just about anything that you can think of that may be causing back pain. In fact, they have a checklist that includes anything from pinched nerves to back spasms to osteoporosis. The thing about it is that for the most part, the reviews are showing that this may not be the crazy claim that it sounds like.

Comfortable: While the material is not as breathable as anyone seems to like, it’s lightweight enough that some people tend to forget that they are wearing it, which is a bit of a problem (see What’s Not So Great for further details), but those who enjoy theirs settle for putting a tank top on to keep the skin contact minimal.

Design: The design is clearly designed for women, and it’s designed to be cute enough to wear at the gym and let it be seen. Aside from its looks, it is well padded and offers a wide area of support, which should help you do things like weight lifting.

What’s Not So Great About ComfyMed® Premium Quality Back Brace CM-102M with Removable Lumbar Pad for Lower Back Pain Relief

It’s Mobile: The top complaint that is actually a complaint is that this brace was not designed for specific activities, and it tends to bunch at the waist or roll, causing some discomfort for their wearer.

Risk of Muscle Atrophy: Unless it is recommended by your doctor, it’s noted that you might not want to wear this one for more than four hours at a time. There is a risk that instead of strengthening your back, you are at risk for doing just the opposite. This can be a good thing, however, based on the fact that it’s…

Not An Everyday Brace: The elastic involved in this brace can wear out very quickly if you are not careful to let it rest in between uses. The fact that it’s not to be worn for more than four hours at a time does not stop a lot of people, and you might be purchasing four a year if you are not careful to follow instructions.

Is The ComfyMed® Premium Quality Back Brace CM-102M with Removable Lumbar Pad for Lower Back Pain Relief A Great Purchase?

That depends on what you consider a great purchase, really.

ComfyMed’s back brace is one that works extremely well if you follow instructions to the letter, but for many people, that may not be something that is completely feasible. In the span of a day, four hours really isn’t that long a time, especially if you are working full-time and need the brace to prevent things like throwing your back out lifting heavy boxes. You could always take it off during lunch hour, but there are many places where you don’t even get a full hour for lunch, and back pain certainly doesn’t take a day off, so if you are looking for a brace you can wear every day for as long as needed, this is definitely not a great purchase. It likely will work just fine for someone with more spontaneous issues.
